Blogging is a strange world. Bloggers invariably put demands on themselves as to what they think they should do, usually based on what they think OTHERS think they should do.
Most anyone who has had a blog, an LJ, a personal website, or similar beastie quits at some point for any of a host of reasons, from lack of time to feeling over exposed to feeling completely ignored. Blogs die from neglect, from boredom, from being too popular or not being popular enough. I've kept some variety of blog for about 7 years now, and I quit at various time for various reasons, once for 8 months.
If you like talking to the world, then talk. If you don't, then quit. Just don't put yourself through the wringer of personal expectation. It is YOUR BLOG. You do with it as you like. Post when you want. No one is paying you here. There is no "fair". There is no contract. We who read you are getting it all gratis, and either we like it or we don't, in wihch case no one is forcing us back. So, Do As Thou Wilt, and don't beat on yourself about it. The only reason to have one is wanting to have one. When you don't want it anymore, drop it.
However, if you march on with it, you might put up Blogger's security for comments, just to stop the comment spam you are getting :>
